(Setting up for the Season)
This is the first holiday with all of my family together. Erin and her kids joined mine for a fun Thanksgiving. We stuffed our faces and roared with laughter for hours. My mom joined us for the festives, so what could have been better? Jeanie! Erin’s cooking reminds me a lot of my mother’s cooking, too… so I was in Heaven.
With Christmas about a month away, the Salon has taken on another family: parents and four children through Shephards of the Street. We’ll be taking donations as well as offering specials and services that benefit this family.
But if you hear the bell ringing, that’s likely us volunteering to collect money for Salvation Army’s holiday drive. Come on through the salon and find out how you can help give back this holiday season.
Shephard of the Street: Gift Card Special
You give and we’ll keep the giving coming. We’ll add $5 to your $50 gift card and $10 to the $100 gift card.
Holiday Party Blow Outs
All month long, we’re offering blowdrying and styling for $5 off.
$15 for a blowdry and stylist all month. Ask Heather about some product to keep styling your hair for every party you’ve got to attend.
Stylists’ Memory Lane
I asked my Stylists, what is something you like about the holidays as well as their best memory from the season…
Michael likes the scents of the season, particularly the baked goods and the Christmas Trees as well as enjoying all of the sparkly stuff. His favorite memory is from Christmas Eve when his family gathers at his grandmother’s house.
Deb’s holiday is all about having her children and grandchildren around and the best memories involve them.
Mindy enjoy how everyone shares in the holiday spirit. Christmas Eve is the center to her favorite memory when her family get together after church, stay until midnight and bring in Christmas, watching A Christmas Story.
Ally loves everything about the holiday: family getting together, food and the hustle/bustle at work, shopping and decorating. Her favorite memory was Ms. Claus’s visit to her Uncle’s house on Christmas Eve bringing small gifts for all of the little ones. There’s nothing cuter than the expressions on their faces.
Alyssa likes the traditions that come along with the holiday as well as adding new traditions each year. Her memories stem from getting everything ready with her Nana and how special Nana made every celebration.
Rachael’s entire family gets together for Christmas every year (most of whom she doesn’t see very often), but the absolute best Christmas was when her brother returned from Iraq to join the celebration.
Monique loves all of the family gatherings. The time she thought she was getting a fig under the tree and yet it was porcelain, she was so touched that she cried.
Heather’s favorite holiday cheer are her grandson and daughter and providing them with all of the things that make them happy.

Finally… To My Stylists: Thank you for Giving
Do me a favor? When you come into the salon next, thank my staff for what they do for you (and for me). I don’t think I could ever be as happy and successful without all of these angels. They have taken care of me through the years… and Heather’s been there with me nearly every step of the way. She is my guardian angel. In the spirit of the season, I hope you echo my appreciation for what they do.
Take advantage of the beautiful settings that Christmas brings. Take a stroll down Millionaire Row (especially in the snow) or a trip to Candy Cane Lane with the kids or a walk through Brandon Park. Take in the scenery and fall in love with this small, quaint, corky city that we live in.
Enjoy the Season’s Spirit and I hope to see you around the Salon!
